Just have to ask this.

Is area 51 the only place the American Military tests new "black" or "top secret" aircraft?
It seems to me that for a country with as large a military budget allocation as the U.S. enjoys......
Three or four aircraft every couple of decades or so seems like very few to be developing....even at the cost of them these days.
As a Canadian, I have always found it hard to reconcile the fact that at Airshows.....All we have seen for years have been F-14s, 15, 16s, 18s recently F-117s, B-2s, and I guess, although I've never seen one here myself F-22 Raptors.
Now when you consider they were flying most of those in the early 70's and they've been spending money hand over fist long before and ever since....there have got to be more....many more that have at least gotten off the drawing board and into the air for a few test flights.
There have to be.
Where are they testing them?

I know this seems like an amaturish question....
but the figures and the numbers of years just don't seem to add up.
