Some reports indicate the B-1 is being studied as a 'super SEAD' platform, meaning it would escort a strike package in and be packed with its own comprehensive suite of jammers that are developments of those carried ion the EA-6B and the EF-111. It wpuld also be loaded to the gills with HARM, JSOW, JDAM, JDAM-ER, JASSM etc.

There are currenty two 'Bones' being tested at Edwards in this guise, although I'm not sure how far along the concept is or whether it will proceed to production. Perhaps they are also looking at ways to reduce the RCS on the Bone to make it more survivable in the SEAD role.

Imagine a squadron of 10-12 EB-1Bs...Hey! Sounds like a Dale Brown novel!
