How do you know he never did a contract with EG&G? I've "worked" for companies and never had to deal with anything but the engineering manager. The manager cuts a PO to whatever he is allowed, you draw down that PO, then they cut another. No personel records required. I've done contracts that never required me to meet with more than one person, i.e. no on-site presence. [OT, but in the internet age, you can do contracts and never physically meet anyone from the company.] Proving a negative is often said to be impossible.
