There is also cell phone service in Alamo.

When the cell phone service was set up with two groups of frequncies, i.e. two carriers. They called them wired-line and non-wired-line. The local carrier got the wired line, and the other carrier was generally Cellular One. When cell phone scanning was interesting, I studied the system a bit and noted that often the same poles would hold both systems. The companies probably cooperated with the infrastructure to save costs.

In the Nellis Ranges, I think the customer base is so low that both services can't be present everywhere. For instance, I can use Verizon in Alamo, but not in Tonopah. AT&T is just the oposite. I'm sure if you can see Vegas, then any service is available.

In my case, verizon begins to work when you are going up the ridge to the hill with the loose shale.
