I have never bothered to verify this, but I am pretty sure that there are road sensors along the only access road to the Tikaboo Peak trail. The last section of the road gets very little traffic and whoever uses it will more than likely head up to Tikaboo. Between the sensors, the camera on Baldy (you are very exposed on Tikaboo, in full view of the Baldy cam) and the camera of the weather station "they" know you are up there. I cannot recall the details but when the weather station was first installed on Tikaboo I looked into who is funding it. I ended up with clear ties to either DoD or USAF. I may have posted this at the time here in the forum.

All that said, there is no doubt in my mind that the Groom chopper crew knew they were being watched, possibly filmed, that day. If they did not someone dropped a mighty big ball.
