The 180 cannot do on the fly ballistic missile warning / defence duties.

And it is not viable to produce in the numbers that are required.

There are things that need to stay aloft for a very long time that don't need to be super all aspect, just low enough to be survivable at a distance but still be mission effective giving the heads up.
