I just spoke with GeoEye. The cost for a 100sq.km image (min.size) is $1980. They will get back to me about publication rights, but most likely there is no extra charge as long as we give them credit. So we are looking at roughly $2000. So far, including a very generous donation from Norio, we have about half of that covered.
Once we get commitments for the other half I will post instructions how you can send your donations, and get the ball rolling with GeoEye. I think this will be a very interesting image! Thank you all for helping out with this!
