I guess it depends on what your definition of interesting stuff is. I have been to the area more than 100 times. Back in the day when Freedom Ridge and Whitesides were accessable we were basically 13 miles away with cameras and some optics and didnt seem to see any interesting stuff. Maybe Norio can add some insight to this. As far as anything being on the tarmac in the daytime I think I saw an occasional F/16 parked. I have never seen or heard of anything being constructed or assembled outside. Dontknow for sure but common sense would dictate that any work on a classified item would be done inside. I believe that any test flights are done in the dareness as you suggested unless it is an item that they want people to see. Such was the case with the F-117 and the U2.
