If the fire happened where I think it was, it is not in the line of flight for something as big as B-52 taking off from Groom, rather it is almost perpendicular to the runway. Is that right? If so, your double cover-up theory may be correct. Otherwise, it was a pretty hard turn to the right from takeoff for the 'Buff' to overfly that area!
