Correct! I very much doubt that a B-52 could take off (northbound) and make a sharp right turn, to get to where the crash happened. Rather, if it was a B-52, it would have to fly a 270 deg. left-hand turn over the northern Groom basin, gaining altitude. While I have seen planes do similar maneuvers, it would seem to make sense for them in this case to just continue north past "No Name" into Sand Spring Valley.
For the record: The B-52 drop tank story is a rumor circulating in Rachel, possibly originating from a questionable source, and as far as I know has not been officially confirmed.
