A recent podcast the Defense & Aerospace Report states that there are not two, but three NGAD demonstrators that have flown. As noted in the podcast, Boeing constructed an NGAD tech demonstrator of its own to compete with the NGAD demonstrators built by Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman.

Although the contractor for the NGAD tech demonstrator flown in 2020 has yet to be publicly disclosed, it is almost certain that X-273 was allocated to one of the NGAD tech demonstrators, and that the other two NGAD technology demonstrators have been designated X-63 and X-64, because the latest edition of the resume by Dan Javorsek refers to the X-273 as a "demonstrator aircraft" rather than simply X-273, and the X-63 and X-64 were probably allocated to two of the NGAD demonstrators prior to assignment of X-65 to the Aurora Flight Sciences CRANE project in May 2023.
