While in some ways I certainly do have a point. 2 of the last 3 evolutionary aircraft that were developed in the US never were produced in significant quantities. I'm referring to the F-22 and the B-2. The only exception recently is the F-35. We spend all the money on the engineering and testing on then realize how much the aircraft are going to cost and cut the orders significantly. Who knows if we would do this with the B 21 program or not. Meanwhile we are still flying heavy bombers designed in the 50s!
