Yes, if they buy enough of NGAD. Now, what is enough? One F22 with six AAM x 187 a/c x .45 (availability) = 505 targets with one AAM each (one time sortie). How many NGAD are needed to meet this modest requirement? And at what cost? I am in agreement regarding the possible ramifications of enough NGAD (eyes and shooters) to do the job, I am uncertain that the cost (including sustainment) is going to be bearable unless the services get together and cooperate better than they ever have. There is too much of the "Not my monkeys, not my circus" mentality and probably for good (if historical) reasons.
