https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Ignition_Facility And before people get too excited about this - it is certainly a great achievement for fundamental physics but in terms of future energy totally irrelevant, as the amount of energy released was equivalent to the burning of 10 sugar cubes - once, not in a continuous process.
