Someone can probably explain it better but Edwards tankers using the GHOST callsign are on mission and support a number of projects and tests. Tanker 61-0320 is the one with the nice paint job. I actually havent seen this aircraft is a little while. I think the last time I saw it it was headed out east. Maybe its getting depot work. There are also a couple other callsigns out of Travis and elsewhere that use another callsign for test missions.
61-0320 is assigned to Edwards test unit. The other tankers are usually from other units and come to Edwards to help support operations there.
