If that shadow is cast by a cloud there's a good reason why you can't line it up. It's too small. Take a look at the smallest shadow that you can line up with the cloud casting it. The shadows appear much larger and more pronounced than the cloud casting it. A cloud casting that tiny shadow in this image likely would not have been resolved at the resolution of this data. You've got a very small, thin and wispy cloud with bright desert sand under it. Between the low resolution and the likely image compression that cloud could have been completely washed out. I start this message with an IF because I still stand by my original statement that the resolution of this image is not good enough to make a definitive assessment one way or another.
