There is no real way to confirm the authenticity of a challenge coin, especially on eBay. Some legit collectors sites will have a certificate or proof. You can also buy unit coins from the PX/BX NavEx etc. Challenge coin "etiquette " though or at least to assure its authentic, is having a coin given by a member of the unit or organization in a handshake or getting coins to give away from the unit or people in the unit directly.
