I am very sorry, Joerg, that they didn't take your concerns into consideration. Even a small amount of preparation would go a long way to ease the concerns of locals, and help prevent many problems. A DUI checkpoint on Friday and Saturday night would go a long way to prevent mishaps - AND bring in money to help pay for the expense! Whatever "donations" the organizers have taken in, should first and foremost, go to dumpsters/trash removal and portapotties. Additionally, it should cover a roadblock into the residential area, which could easily be manned by volunteers. Unfortunately, I haven't found any information, anywhere, that addresses The Inn now has an application for volunteers, but I have not heard back from them yet. There is one thing to consider; this whole thing could turn into a giant snoozefest. If there isn't much going on in the way of entertainment, or if the Inn runs out of food, most people will just leave.
any of this.
Personally, NO ONE I have spoken to is going, and most think it's a terrible idea. I have my own back up plan in case the roads are blocked, it's boring, or there's too many crazies; I'll just head over to Mesquite and visit the casinos! Others will probably do the same.
