Sounds like you have done quite a bit of digging already. I hope some of our forum members can add more information. The old Yucca strip from the 50's is located on the west side of the lake bed. As far as I know it is not used much any more. The active UAV strip is on the east side of Yucca Lake. It is generally referred to as the new Yucca air strip. A number of hangars have been built on the south end in the mid 2000's (from memory). During public test site tours the old air strip is clearly visible. The guide talks about it, but never says a word about the new strip that can be seen across the lake bed in the distance.
