Thank you for the input! I did find a part number, and "Googled" it & Bendix, to no avail. What little I have learned is that Bendix Aviation Corp changed its name, dropping the "Aviation" in 1960-61, so I have an idea how new the part *isn't*. I'll use their "contact us" link, and see if they can ID the part. From what I've learned since my original post, I found this part just north & maybe very very slightly east of the impact crater area for SR-71A #970. Thanks again for the suggestion to ask the current Bendix owner.
