I recall I recall the blockhouse well. I went inside it as a youth with a group of others who were guests of the Deputy Commander, (Canadian) Air Chief Marshall Roy Slemon (equivalent to a four star).
I remember being astounded that the place was so vulnerable. This was the time of Sputnik, and fear of Soviet ICBMs.* The existing faciity at Cheyenne was constructed not long after.
