Definitely a drawing or the X-20. I was a big fan of the project which was to be the next step after the X-15. It was shut down in favor of NASA's Mercury/Gemini/Appollo rocket, "Spam in a Can", parachute recovery programs. It was a looney idea the Air Force Had....A Glider hooked to a large liquid fuel tank with 2 solid propellant boosters strapped on either side.....No Way that could work!....Funny, sounds kinda familar after all these years......Too bad the Space Program wasn't left at least in some small part to the Air Force....who knows what might have happened with a 20+ year head start.
