Be comforted in the knowledge that the usefulness of the facility in our lifetime and beyond is assured. By virtue of their remote location(s) away from major populance, and with the intensity of high levels of security, it greatly adds value to research, and provides protection for the people who live in such areas, by keeping danger contained within secure perimeters. It is not only viable to continue such facilities, but necessary. There are NO weapons program development active at the inferred facility. Perhaps you are referring to military exercises that are conducted within the restricted confines of the facility perimeters, to test and evaluate existing planes, gear and equipment.
