McCarran... now known as Harry Reid Intl ... and yes, that's normal. My neighbor used to fly KC-10s and when they were fully loaded (or expecting to take on a full load), they'd land at the civilian airport because the runway is over 14,000 ft. Nellis' is just a smidge over 10,000. So, you have a lot more room to roll and can be much gentler on the aircraft.
