Here is a photo of a B-1 deploying flares. The attached link has some more shots. Another great "fireworks" display is the use of tracer rounds at night.

Perhaps you can post a brief summary of what you saw here in the forum? Please give as much detail as possible, such as your location, direction in reference to known objects, estimated distance and height, date and time, duration, sound associated with it etc.

It may seem that we are too quick to discount a good sighting. The truth is, we had too many reports of mis-identified flares and natural phenomena. But there is always a chance of a good sighting of something unusual...
