Thanks for the feedback.

The field could also be some kind of heading indicator used by Edwards or Nellis based a/c, as it has a compass type look to it - each axis is about 1.5 miles long, and there are unsealed roads leading to it. Certainly no buildings or infrastructue there to indicate any kind of 'base'.
