For a detailed look at the Navy A-12 that was cancelled in 1991, check out this link. It's a really well detailed site, with plenty of info on that aircraft. There are still rumours arund that the aircraft was not actually cancelled, but was put 'on ice' until technology caught up and it could be produced more cheaply and at lighter weights.
