Its too valuable to shut and too much of a nightmare to move...and theres no reason to.

YES. Whitesands do test various things, they do have an RCS facility and some space vehciles have been tested there (X40) at holloman AFB.
Can you imagine the logistics involved in the move was true? And un noticed of course....
complet crap and i would be embarressed if i was the program producer to release so much shit before verifying it.
