IRST is also on the Typhoon, the most advanced of its kind able (apparently) to see the air friction around the Stealth Aircraft like the F-22 and B-2A.

The Mig29 IRST is very old and unreliable....perhaps to within 20 miles of its target, by which time you are dead....
Regarding the recent F-104 talk also...i saw a few Italian F104s lately...along with Greek , Dutch, German, French, RAF, USAF, Belgian aircraft engaged in combat and attacking the NATO fleet in the English Channel. They all Refuelled over me except the 'Stars' which cannot refuel in mid-air so they went to RAF St Mawgan for a conventional top up.
