I spoke with some people a while ago, whose identity I can not disclose, but who gave me good reason to believe that they know certain things.
They told me about an incident when a fighter pilot ran out of fuel near Groom, and asked for permission to attempt an emergency landing. They told him, absolutely not, rather eject. He landed anyway, and was immediately arrested, given the usual treatment and released to his unit, after signing the usual papers.
The interesting thing is that it took six months until his unit got the plane back. Aparently they took everything apart to see if he had any cameras etc. on board.
