When I called Space Imaging a few weeks ago, the woman with whom I spoke said that SI had already received and satisfied requests for Ikonos 1m imagery of Groom Lake. She said that she had seen the imagery and that it appeared overexposed or washed out as though some countermeasure was being employed, perhaps a highly reflective coating on the roofs of the buildings. She also said that their bird passes over around 10:30 each morning. It will be interesting to see the quality of the imagery that FAS obtains. I emailed John Pike about ten days ago and he confirmed that FAS did indeed plan to obtain imagery of Groom Lake, something any of us could do individually or collectively for about $1100.
