Interesting thing about the Rachel Back Gate

While looking at the Nellis Range Chart (thanks to Joerg for the information on how to get one), I noticed that the road leading to the Rachel Back Gate has four roads branching off to the south of it. The fourth of these roads appears to be the most direct route down to Groom Lake. However, according to the chart, this road branches off *before* the boundary marked by the dotted line. If the guard shack was located right at the dotted line, and if trucks go into Area 51 through the back gate, wouldn't they be taking a longer route than required? What I mean by this is that the trucks would have to go a few miles past the guard shack before turning south towards Groom. Is the border on the chart innacurate or do the trucks really take the long way?
