Yes, after Linebacker II, we had air superiority, almost air supremacy, and that's where a overall plan to win would have helped. Just like after TET 69, we had actually broke the back of the VC in the south.

In a world where the warfighters are allowed to make decisions, we very easily could have prevented the reestablishment of the SAM's that had been exhausted, obliterated every MIG that was on the ground or flying against us, and carpet bombed Hanoi and Hiaphong with the BUFF's until we were satisfied or Ho's nephew's stood hat-in-hand outside our embassy. It would have been a more appropiate gesture to the fallen warriors than the final helicopter extraction from Siagon.

Oh well, no matter how many times I re-fight that war, I look back in the history books and see that we lost. You are right though, we really could have won.

Billy Bob's disgracing of America and the Office of The President is beyond belief. It's just a good thing over his tenure he did not have to deal with a unified Soviet Union, or fight a war like Desert Storm. We were lucky as a nation.
