You are right "Tornado Down" is very good. Andy McNab's book about his SAS adventure in Desert Storm is also a good read. Getting captured by the bad guys that you have been bombing the hell out of is not a good day. The pilots know that the CSAR guys will do everything possible to recover them, but if you get grabbed as your silk deflates, the next few minutes are going to be rough. If McCain doesn't continue to self-destruct over the next few days, we may even have a President that has first-hand knowledge about brutal captivity. BTW he was the pilot of the A-4 that was the epicenter of the great U.S.S. Forrestal flight deck fire. He had to crawl out of his fully engulfed aircraft, shinny along the nose refuelling probe, and then drop in the fire, and then run to safety. It was all caught on the flight deck camera. I don't know what kind of President he'd be, but as a cat he's down to no more than six lives.
