Yeah I think the Challenger Disaster was one of those "I remember where I was" type incidents
in most peoples lives.
I think that whilst a few projects by NASA over the last decade or so have been worth while, The Hubble (sans dodgy lens problem)
The Jupiter Probe ect all were revealing enough to be worthwhile.

But I think that the lost Mars lander was a good idea, but due to the miscalculations will put
future exploratory expeditions under close scrutiny.
