Especially when NASA has had spacecraft orbiting the planet at various times for more then 35 years, and successfully landed two probes on Mars 25 years ago, and these worked perfectly from all accounts. Surely with the info gleaned by these past missions, combined with miniturisation and computer technology since then, it would have got easier...!

If it's not a conspiracy, then I'll bet asses have been kicked and heads have rolled in the past six months!!!
