Hi Magoo, Nice spotting, The Duxford SR-71 is a tribute to the SR-71's role in the United Kingdom. The SR-71 was based at RAF Mildenhall for many years with two aircraft on rotational detachment (TDY) all year round. Duxford also has one of the first B-52 Stratofortresses to be made inside the museum aswell. Rich
When they got mothballed, it just left the U-2R and TR-1A based at RAF Alconbury, of which closed, so they transfered to RAF Fairford, then to Istres Le Tube in France.
