of course aurora exists. it exists as the x-38. the x-38 is a prototype, based upon the original aircraft dating to the x-1. surely you remember the x-1? if you go the new millennial NASA home page, you can read about the experimental aircraft, which is not only being built, such as the x-32, but the followon craft which has been engineered in the footprint of the x-1 technology. the contrails, are described as a "doughnuts on a rope" effect caused by the mach 7 speeds. the aurora craft is the x series technology. if you go to the NASA sight www.highway2space.com/ you will be able to learn more about the x-series craft.
