Cool stuff Larry. I think the A-12 and other planes similar to the SR-71 had the same problem at first. I remember at the Edwards AFB open house last year the announcer saying that they have chase planes for that reason. The chase plane will look over the SR-71, before it lands, because at such high speeds and altitude it can take a toll on the skin of the plane.
