I see gun loaded helos all day everyday here at 20ft and beside my house, they are only loaded when going to a range. That would also be the same for the USA.
Why would they arm there helos otherwise? Expecting a war in their homeland and around SFO?

They just dont bother taking off the guns from their mounts.
I regulally see Chinooks with gun placements in the rear door and side doors where they havent been taken off the mounts since coming back from Sierra Leone.

And alot of the helos i see here come from the nearby base which supplies helos to Northern Ireland troops so they are always armed with door guns and the like.
