It is certainly possible to use a dish for satcom, but most sites have 4 or 5 antennas for this purpose. You can mount 5 helixes on a building without too much trouble, but dishs are another story.

The X pole is just two dipoles with a phasing harness. Not as good as a helix, but it does the job. The intent is to get circular polarization.
