If you are in stealth configuration, you have everything 'tight', that is, closed and switched off.

'Switched off' means radar in standby, and IFF, formation lights, even cockpit lighting off, so as to avoid any electronic or visual transmissions.

'Closed' means weapons bays, refuelling receptacle, IR dsignator bay, undercarriage, and flaps and ailerons at minumum deflection angles so as to avoid any possible radar returns. Something as minor as a slightly ajar or ill-fitting panel or door, could make a usually ball bearing size radar return suddenly appear the size of a basketball on a good radar!
