TONAPAH, Nevada, September 7 – A bus crash on US Highway 6 just west of Tonapah has injured 41 people. Helicopters and medical personnel from Washoe, Clark and Elko counties responded to the accident near mile marker 38 in Esmerelda County. Most of the injured have been taken to Nye County Regional Hospital. But at least eight people who are critically injured were flown to other area hospitals. The California based Sun Line bus was carrying an English tour group from Las Vegas to Mammoth, California. They were scheduled to arrive in San Francisco Friday. Officials are investigating the cause of the accident but say it most likely was caused by driver error.
