I just watched the news...they said the fighter was about 1/2 mile away from the plane out of LAX. They are calling it a close call because most traffic in that area stay 5 to 6 miles apart. I'm sure the f-117 knew that the 757 was there. From what the news said...the 757 flew to NY and filed a "close call report" with the government.
