If the airliner was built fairly recently (last 8-10 years) it would most likely have a collision avoidance system fitted, but these can only see an aircraft with an IFF engaged. The airliner pilot would have diverted as he/she probably would have more warning if this had activated.

The F-117 doesn't even have an air-to-air radar with which to see another aircraft. The 117 pilot would have to rely on the old Mk.1 Eyeball to see any airborne threat, and if it were cloudy he probably wouldn't even know there was a near miss.
