Im not sure what all the fuss is about all over a VOR Beacon.
It has no relation to this forum what so ever.
If you look at some routes(air) and going by my trusted friends comments.
He flew over Basecamp on his way Eastwards from San Franscisco on normal airliner. The VOR is used by Civil aswell as Military.
Its ONLY a VOR! many thousands more like it in CONUS and around the world so i dont see why all the fuss is about it.
Whoever wants to tune into the VOR at anytime can sit there and have the most interesting time of their lives listening to it if they like. If they are that Sad and un-interesting. Its just a noise! nothing more!
nothing but a plain old Very High Frequency Omni Directional Range Beacon! Go to Vegas, you'll find one there too, and perhaps tune your scanners to this aswell?
As for Mil-navigating. The military use TACAN's between major bases and beacons. (TACtical Air Navigation) Beacon aswell as the 'odd VOR' but VOr navigating isnt that common with fighters.
