Janet Flights

Hi Magoo, thanks so much for sending the magazine! Can't wait to read it.
The Janet flights go pretty much straight north from Vegas, and usually land NNW on the runway at Groom. The prevailing winds are from the west. Flight time is about 35 or 40 minutes. I have a partial schedule of flights in and out of McCarran in the [More Info] section.
They fly over restricted area most of the time, and approach Groom at low altitude. Sometimes you can catch a glimpse of a Janet's landing light between the hills from the highway. A better viewing spot is the Powerlines Overlook, which has a clear view of the Groom airspace (NOT the base, though). Or Tikaboo, of course, from where you can actually see them land.
Taking off they often fly a loop to gain altitude, before leaving the Groom Lake basin.
