Ok, here goes.

After the Vietnam War the squadron was re-equipped from F-4 Phantoms to F-15 Eagles. In 1991, a training section, the 479th TTG, was added to the squadron. In two training groups young America pilots were trained on the AT-38B plane.

The USAF decided in 1991 to move the weapons system F-15, and announced at the same time that beginning in mid-1992 the US training unit (20th FS) and 1. DtLwAusbStff USA with 21 F-4E, responsible for the German Phantom training, as well as the 37th TFW with F-117A would be moved from George AFB, California to Holloman AFB.

DtLwAusbStff = Deutsche Luftwaffe Ausbildungs Staffel (German Air Force Training Squadron)
