Sounds plausible to me. Would ATC radar pick up a missile, or are they too small? I always wondered about this regarding the missile theory that brought down (supposedly) Flight 800. You would of though the NYC ATC would state that no missile was in the air because they would of detected it with a certainty of xx%.
