I have heard _rumors_ that there are two (?) F-15's standing by at Groom at all times, ready to intercept whoever breaches their airspace. Please note, this is hear-say, I have no proof whatsoever for this. I am throwing this in to hear your and Magoos opinion on it. Far from being an expert, I don't know what kind of logistics that involves, and if that is feasible at all.
Interceptors coming from Nellis AFB would at least take a few minutes, and I wonder if they are taking that chance at Groom. Of course there are always the Pave Hawks, but they won't be much use against a serious intruder.
